We find this girndi in my country, it grows in the limestone hills. It is a small fruit about 10mm in size, it is a dark purple fruit with dark purple flesh. It's green before it is ripe, it's a sweet fruit with a strong flavour. We know when it is time for girndi when the little glow insect can be seen at night, this mean's that the fruit are cooked (ripe) The painting shows the stages of the fruit raw at bottom, 1/2 cooked at top and cooked in the middle.
